Data and sources
Sources include USGS for earthquakes, NASA EONET for natural events and WHO outbreak reports for infectious diseases. Check the original material and publication or collection times in each detail view.
Information with an identified location appears on the map; information without coordinates is listed separately as broad-area information. A country reference point is not an exact incident location. Movement data is based on received or published information and does not cover every aircraft, vessel or satellite worldwide.
Information may be delayed, incomplete or revised. Casualty figures depend on each source’s reporting period and scope. Figures from different reports must not simply be added together. Where translations are shown, consult the original source as well.
